Galaxy S6: Material Design Theme

preview_player
Показать описание
First look at the recently approved material design theme for the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 Active. If you combine the new theme with the Google Now Launcher, you will be able to enjoy a near stock Android Lollipop software experience without needing to root or install a custom ROM. Some of the new changes include stock Android icons and a color scheme that best replicates the look of a Nexus device running Android Lollipop. How do you like the new material design theme?

I think new android phones should have an option for stock when you buy them

Those 2 changes impressed me enough to upgrade from Nexus 5 to S6. Will not miss the stock Android look and feel at some extent!
Thanks for the tip!
Disappointed with new Nexus 5x no wireless charge 😞

Or get Nova launcher for that Google Now feel with way more functionality.

Reading the first few reply threads, one camp is complaining that the modded Android is not more like stock, while the stock folks complain that stock is not more like the modded version.
What that points to is the need to design basic interface control/config tools such that users have sufficient capabilities to allow users to more atomistically control elements within the interfaces - something that would seem to be the real purpose of config flexibility - the lack of which constituting a failure of the original design goal.

I would use Nova Launcher instead of Google now launcher so that I can use more stock like icon pack

When you loaded the Google Now Launcher on top of the Material Theme, some of the buttons (i.e. Phone, Calculator, Contacts) went back to the TouchWiz Themed buttons. I noticed the same thing when I loaded both Material Theme and Google Now Launcher on my Galaxy S6. At first I thought it was some sort of glitch or setting, so I performed a factory reset on my device. The same thing happened. When I noticed that the same thing happened in your video, my suspicions were confirmed.

If you run both Google Now Launcher with Material Theme, you will loose you some of your Nexus looking app icons. Hopefully there will be a developer fix or possibly a setting that I am not aware of to fix this.

A Google Play Edition of this phone with Android M would be amazing since Android M natively supports fingerprint scanners and will be all the goodness of Stock.

But have you noticed something - Icons switch back to TouchWiz look when Google now launcher is running which is not the case with Samsung Material Theme

The problem of google now launcher is that it does not apply any change on icons.
You can also see from this video that stock touchwiz icons are still alive when using google now launcher.

Is there a theme that will make TouchWiz looks like on the Galaxy S4 with KitKat? I mean with black backgrounds on menus and the dialer and contacts to look like the S4's KitKat TouchWiz?
