"Memories". The song was not officially released on a studio album, and was released as a single in April 1972.
Memories was written by keyboardist Gerard Koerts, his twin brother and guitarist Chris Koerts and bass guitarist Hans Ziech. Unlike the previous singles, which were produced by Jaap Eggermont and Freddy Haayen, this single only listed Eggermont as producer; Haayen had meanwhile become director of the Dutch department of record company Polydor. The song marks one of the first times the mellotron is used in Dutch music.
The B-side "From the End till the Beginning" was by two band members Chris Koerts and Hans Ziech (printed as Hans Ziekh).
Earth & Fire (also Earth and Fire) was a Dutch pop group from the 1970s and 1980s. The members came from Voorschoten, Voorburg and Leidschendam. The group had as main band members Jerney Kaagman (vocals) and the twin brothers Gerard (keyboards) and Chris Koerts (guitar). The other band members changed over time. Drummer on the first two hits is Cees Kalis, who then opted for a job in education and was replaced by Ton van der Kleij. Bass guitarist Hans Ziech was replaced in 1974 by Theo Hurts, who was succeeded in 1978 by Bert Ruiter.
Just like the predecessors "Seasons" and "Ruby is the one", it achieved high sales figures in the Netherlands and reasonable ones in Belgium.
