For future references, your car has to come equipped with remote start for it to work as not all make and model will come with remote starter. Almost all lexus factory remote start sequence is the same and that is by pressing unlock 3x and hold on the third. Newer model lexus starting from 2022-up will now allow you to enter the car while its remote started and drive without it shutting off. Also remote start from keyfob has nothing to do with the lexus enform application as that feature allows you to monitor, lock/unlock, and also remote start from your mobile device. Hope that answer most of the questions.

THANK YOU!!! This worked on my 2013 Toyota Highlander. After changing my car battery the starter no longer worked. Toyota Dealer told me they couldn't find a automatic starter on my car. I guess they didn't know about factory auto-starters. After searching through many video to no avail I decided to try this one. I know its for a Lexus but it worked on my Toyota.

Thank you! I have a 2011 RX350 that a body shop brought in to have a spare remote ( Prox/Fob ) programmed. After completing, the proximity aspect was not functional. Remote would lock/unlock/trip horn, and would start car in dead remote fashion ( remote held up to start button). Vehicle would not unlock door upon approach and grasp of handle, and start would not work with remote in pocket.

Figuring since 2011, either an AM start was added, or if this is a factory lockout / valet mode.... I tried LOCK 5X from remote while inside car.

All is good now.

BTW, to anyone who gets a new remote. They all come with DEAD batteries, if bought from dealer. Stock was likely manufactured years before the car was built, and batteries could have been a few years old back then.

Replace the battery in ALL your remotes, we found Panasonic to be very reliable. Energizers, about 8% are below charge minimum that I find acceptable.

Use the emergency key monthly, to keep the lock functional. Lack of use will allow the lock to seize up, as the lubricant solidifies. Use only the following in car locks as a lubricant:

Houdini ( available from most locksmiths ) huge 11OZ can sells at about $9.99
CRC 5-56
Silicone Lube Spray

NEVER graphite, Teflon, WD-40, or duck tape

Thanks for the video. I just bought a 2016 ls 460 and am unable to use the remote start. I tried pushing the start button 5x and still nothing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have the original key fob fyi.

for me the 2017 lexus gx 460 i have to press 3 times and on the 3rd time i hold it than it will remote start so if i want just to press it 3 times and it will start do i have to do factory remote like this video?

I came across of this video and it is very helpful. I have a question, If I am going somewhere say overseas and leave my car with my nephew, Can I leave it on vallet mode say 3 weeks? Then activate it again when I come back?
