NASA is looking to bring back supersonic travel to commercial planes — which means a flight from NYC to London could take just 90 minutes. The last time supersonic travel was available was on the Concorde from 1976 to 2003. The planes were discontinued due to safety issues and noise from the sonic boom. But now, NASA's testing a new 'quiet' supersonic jet that would reduce the noise, and they've contracted companies to start developing safer supersonic passenger jets.

Safety concerns are no greater for SSTs than any other airliner.
Environmental concerns are always over rated.
