This video is of the process I used to create marble epoxy countertops for the kitchen.

Counter top size:
-Island 4' x 8'
-wall sections 2' x 11.5'

Materials:
-Plywood (qty 2) .75 x 4' x 8'
-MDF (qty 2) .75 x 4' x 8'
-Epoxy (3 gallons) 1.5 gallons for color coat, 1.5 gallons for top clear coat
-Rustoleum gloss white paint (1 qt) for surface sealer and epoxy colorant
-Rustoleum hammered silver (1 spray can) epoxy colorant
-Rustoleum hammered black (1 spray can) epoxy colorant

I'm not understanding how you did the edges. I see you started with them taped, which I assume was so your material wouldn't run off. Did you pull the tape after you got the pour done on top and let it run off the edges naturally?

Personally I would never use MDF, plywood is not that much more ! And you'll never have to worry about moisture issues.
