See Francis Ford Coppola's bold vision, Megalopolis, in cinemas September 26. Experience it in IMAX. Starring Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Kathryn Hunter, and Dustin Hoffman.

#Megalopolis is a Roman Epic set in an imagined Modern America. The City of New Rome must change, causing conflict between Cesar Catilina (Adam Driver), a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), the mayor's daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.

Wonder how many know the 2 pronunciations of the Roman "C", which are as K & CH, which the English got confused due to Greek "C" which had the "s" sound.
The vowel "I" is only pronounced in the short form, the long form for "A, E & O" has an "I" immediately following, many European words imported to English which ended in "I" had it changed to "Y", further making the English language confusing & more difficult to learn.
Both Greek & Roman are more fonetik forms of writing, as they are written as they are spoken, each sound pronounced.
The Dutch & Indonesia n languages follow that principle, with only the "U" being spoken in the long form.
The most common Dutch word used in English is mispronounced. The word KUIPER is a Dutch Surname & actually sounds similar to KWEEPER, not KYPER.
I hope those producing films of all kinds in North America will start researching correct pronunciations, as English literacy is deklyning at an alarming rate around the world, caused prymarili diu to the films on YouTube, Series, Movies & Animation produced in the USA (the most illiterate English speaking nation & Canada which is not far behind).
The Greek & Roman prefixes "amphi, anti, bi/bio, demi, di, dis, epi, hemi, kilo, medi, micro, mill, mim, min, mis, multi, omni, peri, semi, tri" all should have the "i" pronounced in the short form, while with "hyper, hypo, syn" the "y" has the same sound as the long sound of "I".
So many times I hear on YouTube, series & movies the actors mispronounce "anti" as Ant Eye, "multi" as Molt Eye, "semi" as Sem Eye. If a hyphen is to be added, as with semi-circular, it goes after the "i", not before it, nor are the syllables split into two clearly separate words.
The English language does need to be rationalised (raxonalyzd) to be truly FONETIK (in brackets), each letter having only 1 sound, with no "e at the end or gh at the end or within denoting a change in sound of the last vowel in the last syllable from short to long sound, or silent "K" as with knight (nyt), so the following are my preferred sounds for some letters, "C" as "CH", "F" replacing all "PH", "G" having only the sharp sound, "J" changing only the soft sound (Jon), "K" also replacing hard "C & Q", "Q" deleted, "S" only the hard sound (base/bais), "U" only the short sound (cup/kup), "W" the long sound of "U" (boot/bwt), "X" as "SH" used by Chinese (Shinzen/Xinzen), "Z" the soft "S" sound (eyes/yz), and 1 more, "θ" (Theta/θeta).
This means the 2 letter combinations which have a totally different sound can not be mistaken as to their pronunciation, eg: Due to many no longer puting hyphens where they should, "pot-hole(pot-hoel)" is commonly written these days as "pothole(poθoel)", which can be mispronounced far too easily. As too "co-operative, co-operation" misspelt as "cooperative/cooperation", the latter I class as a large business which employs coopers making barrels for beer, wine, gunpowder, etc.
