Eddie wanted to be in the movie but unfortunately when he undid the seatbelt on his ride to set it hit him in the eye which made him cry for the rest of time they were filming.

Am I the only one who would've loved if Lupa had wrote the script for the movie (or at least would've overlooked and approved it)? I think she has more knowledge about the show than the actual show-runners ;)

The best kind of spoof or remake is one whose makers loved the source material, or at least enjoyed it as a guilty pleasure. Young Frankenstein and Enchanted, for example, hell, even the Brady Bunch movie. I get the feeling that the makers of this movie weren't big fans of the TV show, they were just trying to ride the current wave of 90s nostalgia.

I always wish that there had been created a Baywatch videogame for the SNES and PC back in the 90's. The SNES version would be 2d of course and be part side scrolling during on foot beach patrol and rescues, but then isometric when driving around on the beach or driving the Scarab boat out to a rescue. Maybe portions where you are looking though binoculars to find victims from your tower. You could play as Mitch or CJ.
The PC version would have been an FMV/ point and click adventure game sort of like X-Files. Too bad they were never created so we could enjoy their cheesy badness.

Honestly, the most exciting thing to me about the existence of this movie is the fact that you're going to do a Baywatching episode on it. I'm looking forward to hearing your Summer voice again. :-D

also, you seem to be under the impression the guys who wrote the script actually watch the show. I assume they watched maybe 3 episodes and just went on from there.

I'm very mixed in this movie as well. It wasn't awful, had some solid performances but didn't seem to be certain what kind of movie it wanted to be. Priyanka Chopra did a great job with what little character arc she had and Johnson nailed it. Sometimes it was like Baywatch but mostly not.
