I will never forget watching him sing his heart out at ArtPark in Lewiston, NY whilst the crowd talked over him. So sad …because it is my absolute fav Blue Rodeo song.

Augest 1996 North Bay Ontario Festival. they played the whole 5 Day's in july Album. I was 13. I won't forget that concert, Jim Said that there was a great audience. that and I saw them again 2012 north bay. I love playing some of their tunes on the Guitar. I love this Band so much.

This song has special meaning to me. A number of years ago I met a beautiful young woman in Los Angeles who had moved there to pursue acting and singing. She was very talented and had a joyful heart. She had the potential to become a very successful country singer and perhaps the first black female superstar in that genre. The one day she fell and hurt her hip and wouldn't heal. I took her to UCLA Medical becaue she had no insurance and I still recall them pushing her out into the parking lot in a wheelchair. The "doctor" told her because she was so skinny she was a drug addict and wouldn't help her. Saddest thing I ever say. She never did drugs and was thin to begin with being a model and thinner due to the illness. We went elsewhere and they did a quick look and found a large tumor. That night I drove her and her dogs to Colorado nonstop to her mother a successful realtor and her father an engineer at HP. It was soon discovered she had full blown cancer and died less than a year later.

by now, i think this is a guilty past pleasure. the vocal spacing has gaps where I used to feel emotions when I was younger, that I don't identify with anymore, and this results in a feeling of embarrassment. But still, love the lyrics. I could say, "many winter listens." This song blew my mind over and over and over again. =)
