HELP what makeup looks better on me pls (GRWM)

I'm at a crossroads with my makeup and I need (nice) external opinions please!! PS. sorry I can't let go of the lower mascara just yet xx

I am completely with you on the fresh faced look. This is why I have concentrated on skincare over makeup for years to achieve even skin tone naturally. All I wear is something under eye, blusher, mascara and sometimes eyeliner. I think it creates a greater sense of ‘natural beauty’.

I love Basics By B Tan Face Drops, leave it on overnight then basically just do a bit of concealer and mascara as my ‘everyday makeup’ and focus more on skincare.
If my face isn’t tanned, I mix the same L’Oréal foundation you use with my moisturiser to create more of a tint and that’s good enough for me 😊
Full coverage makeup I save for events like weddings etc now.

I really do think your fair skin gives you a more youthful look and the less coverage also looks great. Im almost 30 and also starting to notice some subtle changes and aging to my skin. Im finding that i look better and prefer a light coverage skin like a skin tint or tinted moisturizer or ill even mix my own moisturizer with my fav foundation and do concealer under eyes and any needed spots with a cream blush overtop, really focusing on enhancing vs covering. Im all for the current skin trends of looking natural dewy compared to our classic fulll coverage.
I also find with the age rewind concealer i have to either tap it in with my fingers or use a sponge vs a brush

I use a tinted moisturiser. Specifically the Clinique one. But it’s a really light coverage but enough to even out the skin. May be worth trying!

I LOVE the no makeup side more as well! I’m in my 30s now and feel the same, any time I put full makeup on I hate the way it looks! It just makes me feel like I look a lot older, so now I just do lashes brows and occasional concealer:) love your videos so much!

I’ve been trying to work out a simple no make up, make up, for last few years too. Heavy make up is ageing. I find brows are really important. I’m currently trying Tir Tir in the T Zone, just to remove redness. Then mascara. If I want to glam it I just add blush and lipstick. I love your content and totally relate to the simple things being the joys in life. Keep up the amazing work here on YT. Also your highlights reel was fabulous! ❤😊

I also have perioral dermatitis that never goes away. But what does help is Elixir SOS paste which is sulfur based!

Hi Lauren 👋🏼 I’m a 33 year old makeup girly too obv lol. I can totally relate to this. I’ve been passing up on using my foundation and having a totally done face. Most of the days when I go to work I just use a serum concealer that’s my skin tone and I just spot concealer lightly where I feel I need too. I have redness as well so I just go over those parts a little more. I only do my under eyes leaving my lid alone. I might go under my eyebrows with whatever is left on my brush. You should try NYX Bare With Me serum concealer for this. It’s really nice and light but hydrating so it looks like real skin. Sometimes I’ll even use little cream blush and bronzer (lightly) if I feel I neeed more to look at. Mascara and lip balm and we’re out the door in 15 mins. 😊

I’m feeling the same lately, like a lighter coverage just to give a tint to match the rest of my body. Looks more flattering as I get older. I don’t recognise myself with full coverage anymore haha

I’m about to turn 30 and have been doing my makeup relatively the same for a while with some subtle changes here and there, but I don’t have this nice even skin to do without full coverage so I never understood how to do this like other people do. My under eyes are PURPLE so if I just try to cover that I look ridiculous so it has to be all or nothing. I prefer a full face. And intense mascara, black, always, and I’m also blonde haha

I think if you’re going for youthful but still low-key, a little bit of cheek tint goes a long way! Perhaps the reason the bare skin side feels fresher and maybe “younger” is that the pinkness of your cheeks isn’t as cancelled out. Gen z is about the blush so maybe we associate blushed cheeks with youth now?

I love true match foundation and use it as my fuller coverage going out foundation but for day to day I’ve started using the true match serum foundation and am really enjoying the lighter coverage it gives. Could be something to give a try if you haven’t already!

Also, you could try using just a tinted serum then do your concealer trick also! I like the typology tinted serum and I just use charlotte tilbury flawless filter underneath and I use Dior concealer to light conceal spots and under my eyes! Tiny bit of powder around where needed! Cream bronzer and blush to. I like a satin look no dewy not matte. But more powder all over will make it less dewy if you want it more matte! And powder blush and bronzer on top of the creams to! Good luck! I love your mascara to! It suits you and makes your eyes stand out more than they already do!

Hi Lauren, fellow Ozzie here, been watching u since u began. I’m a pro makeup artist for 24 years, and one thing I’ve found is that light coloured concealer under the eyes can actually age some people, maybe try a colour that matches ur foundation colour and see if that helps. I’ve used true match for years, since 2014 😂 and also find myself wanting a more natural and hydrating formula. I love their serum foundation but it’s way more expensive.
Thankyou for doing the lords work and buying and trailing the foundations for us broke girlies! Haha.

You can definitely return lightly used products at Mecca, I got a Charlotte T blush which I didn’t like and they were happy to return my money…..the hourglass soft ambient foundation is amazing if that’s the one you were looking at….maybe get a couple of samples I did and it helped me out so much.
