Are Targaryen's Immune To Fire?

Daenerys emerges free from harm after walking into Drogos funeral pyre. Does this mean Targaryen's are immune to fire?

Summerhall would have been weird if Targaryens we're immune to fire. Imagine the king and his son walking out naked after a bunch of important people from court just burned to death, including his best friend and said my bad will get it next time.

I mean, Danys hair burnt off in the books, and she takes baths in near boiling water, so she has some resistance.

Anyone who thinks it’s blood magic forgets the very first scene we have with Dany. She literally takes a boiling bath.

They are resistant to heat. They are NOT immune to or molten gold. In "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" Dunk remarks that Egg loves scalding hot baths. Like hot bath water that would be too much for a normal person was just right for the targaryen lordling . The same is true for Danny and other targaryens. In my head cannon Targaryens are resistant to heat but not immune to heat-related deaths like burning alive or molten gold being poured onto their skull.

in the tv canon its different and seem to be true for HotD as well
there is this moment where Vhagar breathes fire and Daemon flies through it like it's nothing. It could be a hint to him being a "true" dragon

Though his clothes weren't burned either so maybe Vhagar just has a weak ass flame or something

Well as pureblood as you can get by that point. They had mixed with lesser Valyrian houses like Velaryon and Rogare along with non-Valyrian blood like Arryn, Martell, Blackwood, Massey, and Dayne. But yeah they weren't fire immune.

I think their resistance to heat is a trait from Valyria because it was very volcanic and hot there so their bodies have probably adapted to handle extreme temperatures and the funeral pyre had some blood magic ritual stuff going on so that’s how dany survived

This is why the books are different from the shows. In the books, Daenarys is not immune to fire and heat, though she probably has some resistance to it. On the other hand, the show decides to make her fireproof outright

The shows might be different tho cause when daemon was riding behind his wife his wife did cover him in some dragon flame which didn’t appear to do anything

I think the best answer is that it was some strong blood magic stuff going on. Danny lost her husband and baby, and burned the witch who tricked her. Thats three deaths for three dragons, as for why she lived... maybe she was in the circle of love that makes you immune to death during blood magic spells?

It makes more sense that certain exceptional Targaryens inherit the 'dragon blood', not just dragon-riders. Maester Aemon, the Dragonknight, maybe even Good King Daeron.

Kinda like how not all First Men are born with the potential to be Warg or Greenseer, even an ancient house like Stark.
