Turns out that many aircraft designed before DirectX 10 was released will probably render improperly in FSX.

If you are not worried about the additional features of DirectX that much, you can simply turn off 'Preview DirectX 10' in the General settings and the aircraft render great.

It's a slight step backwards for those legacy aircraft, but at least you are able to use some of your favorite aircraft again.

I play FSX too! A great game... Played it back when I was 10, now playing again with my new PC :) Thanks for the tips, I never fly the acceleration planes so I think I'll just turn preview DirectX 10 off.

When preview for DirectX 10 is on, I get from 30 to 60 FPS. However, when its off, I get 5 to 10, 20 if I'm lucky. My laptop runs DirectX 11, so I don't understand what is going on. Someone help please D:
