Dr Kamarudin Ahmad is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geotechnics and Transportation, School of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. For the past 30 years he has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate civil engineering courses viz; Statics, Geotechnical Engineering. Advanced Geotechnical Analysis and Design, Environmental Geotechnics, and Advanced Materials in Construction. His research interest includes ground improvement, foundation engineering and environmental geotechnics.

square footing must be designed to carry 2.50 kilo newton load using terzaghi bearing capacity formula to determine width of footing with factor of safety 3 unit weight of soil is 18.15knper cubic meter internal friction is 35 degree cohesion is zero defth of foundation is 1meter below the ground.sir g please solve me this question

A square foundation (B × B) has to be constructed as shown in figure. Assume γ = 1 15 lb/ft3 and Yal = 121 lb/ft, depth of foundation (Dr) 4 ft and depth of water table (D) 1.5 ft. Dr. Kamarudin, berdasarkan Mackintosh / Jkr probe, kita biasa tgk correlation chart utk allowable bearing capacity. Katakan ~50 Blows/0.3m kita boleh adopt qall ~ 130-140kPa BC, tapi bila kita kira menggunakan Mayerhof, kita masuk kan bearing capacity factors Nc, Nq & Ngamma, qall yang kita akan dapat adalah lebih tinggi. Boleh kah kita kekal dgn qall yang kita dapat dari correlation chart itu saja utk design the bearing pressure?
