How to Plant and Grow a Peach Tree from Pit and Seed from Start to Finish. We took summer 2021 peach pits and cold stratified them in the fall. Then in the winter we planted them and potted them into larger pots several time. Our parting shot is a baby peach tree after one year of picking the fruit.

Had a peach today and thought maybe I could plant it. About Two weeks ago my son planted orange seeds and they are coming up.

I thought you had to break them out of the outer shell??

I do my peach seeds differently and I will have a peach sprout in 2 weeks. I Crack the peach hull and soat the pit in a glass of distilled water for 2 days with a dark cloth on the jar mouth and set in window for 2 days. Then I scrape off the outer exterior of pit carefully not to damage the pit.then put paper towels on a tray wet with distilled water and in 6 to 7 days it will have a root growing. Then I plant in orchard potting mix. Then put in direct sunlight for 6 hours a day.

I've been doing research on trees that are true to seeds and peach trees were one of the trees mentioned to be!

Good job. I would suggest using the hose to wash away soil when separating plants.

If you have a self pollinating cultivar each seed will be true to the mother plant.

I break the out and skip stratification. Works way faster

Everyone that I have looked at on YouTube regarding peaches, they say, 99% of the time, the peach that you ate and grew the pit from will produce same type of peach, especially red peaches, they generally come out true to form. I know that a lot of peaches the red ones people usually got a stone and planted it and it produced with peaches. In New Zealand, they called black boy peaches which could be deemed prejudice I don’t know, but it’s not meant to be and everyone seem to just grow them from these peach pets and they’re great, but now you don’t get them as easily as you did at one time, the Rizzoli’s are blackboy peaches in someone’s garden. I’ve just got to stones, that I’m going to put in my fridge for a few months and hope they grow. I must say your way of growing is quite different. You throw them all into one pot and then pull them apart. Where is everyone else puts one stone to one pot. So I’m hoping to grow my two stones and get to peach trees.
Sorry if this is hard to read as I’m speaking it because my hands have arthritis and it’s hard typing so sometimes the words that are formed are not correct like it might cool the peach stone a pet which is really annoying. Anyway thank you for your videos.

I want to plant a dwarf peach pit and grow it inside for a few years (putting it out for the summer of course). Can it be done?

This was interesting to watch. How long will it take your peach tree to bare fruit? I am so new to gardening and enjoying all the new things I am learning. New to your channel hopefully I will learn alot from you. Big Thumbs up for your future Peach trees!

I thought peaches were always true to form? At least that's what I thought I had heard.

I do not really like the absense of any direct information whatsoever. You planted the pits and they magicly grew overnight into adult saplings? Was any fertilizer used during those months? What was the light and watering they needed? Did you do any pruning?

Sorry, but this 6 minute video did not give me any info on how to grow a peach seedling besides a cold stratification process.

Hey bro thanks for the video really informative. Just a quick question: when I put the shells from the fruit in the fridge so I need to change the paper towel or just in the beginning to be moist, do they need to be moist all the time or?

Cheers
