Kind of wish Discovery Channel had more of this.  Wild Discovery was my childhood.  Thanks to it, I had an appreciation of life outside of my little neck of the woods, and I was able to learn more and more about animals and nature from around the world, spawning a desire to learn more.  Listening to that intro alone evokes nostalgia...

Used to watch these with my family, intro music was always the bomb.

This is great! I've never seen a program showing all the major volcanoes in the U.S. before together with a brief history. Like!

Discovery needs to release this series on home video.

I always associate this show with staying at my grandparents house overnight, because my folks had to work and my grandpa would have this playing during the evenings on their 1982 zenith console tv. And their crappy cable company didn’t get Cartoon Network or Nick (but did get the Disney channel back when it cost extra) but I have great ol memories learning about animals as a kid. I think I even watched this show at home too. Too bad Discovery doesn’t show stuff like this much anymore. Starting around 2007 most cable channels really started to drift away to reality shows and re-running the same shows all day long.

Craters Of The Moon, Idaho. I have been there once, but never wondered when those volcanoes erupted.

The music in the background is so annoying.

I do wish that they would have fact checked more closely. The description of the Yellowstone eruption left out the movement of the continent over the hot spot and the previous calderas. The ash fall from Mount Saint Helens is described as soot, even though it was all finely divided rock. As sad as the story of the Modoc war is, it really has nothing to do with volcanoes, so I am not sure why it was included. Other than that, the program is quite informative.

Was it necessary to write this documentary in baby talk?
