I played dt trusoft all of 2017, as an experiment. I think I will continue to spend less money on the ball and play more golf..😶👍

I played the Tour Soft today on the front 9. It to me was not much different in feel than the DT Trusoft, which is about $12 cheaper. From what I could tell the dimple pattern seemed slightly bigger, so it had more carry to it. The cover did get scuff marks from wedge shots, which was a little surprising. That may be due to it having such a thin cover. The ball overall felt good, and I shot a 39 while using it. Of course it was 40 deg out, so the ball didn't travel as far in the cold. I would like to see what the distance will be like as it warms up. I did manage to hit one drive out to 308 yds on a par 5. For now, I am sticking to the Trusoft for the money. Time will tell as it warms up if I make a switch

Unless you show us the numbers, the actual results, this video is not very informative.

Love the video, David. I’m interested in trying the new Titleist because, as you said, it has a “sirloin” cover. I typically prefer a ribeye, medium. Not being a jerk, but it made me laugh. Anybody got a sirloin? I’m starving. 😜

I've played the AVX ball and found it to be a really nice ball. Good spin off irons and green side shots. Good distance off the tee, yada yada yada. It comes down to preference and what you want to spend. Will probably give the tour soft a go as well. Hit em straight guys. Good vid as always.

I play ProV1x normally. I try to find a cheaper alternative to them but keep on coming back to them as for my swing and style, ProV1x is by far the best all round ball. I have tried everything under the sun that is cheaper than ProV1x. So I tried TP5/TP5x, Chrome Soft, Srixon Z star XV and Tour Soft. I have a driver average swing speed of 110 mph, with natural mil-low trajectory. I found that for me, TP5 doesn't spin much so it wouldn't work. TP5x spins better and can go toe to toe with ProV1x on all aspect except chipping. It doesn't bit as much as ProV1x and has a considerably more roll-out. Chrome Soft and Srixon don't do well off the tee (just balloon up for me) and I lose considerable distance. Iron shots they are all quite similar although Chrome Soft and Srixon tend to spin more than ProV1x and sit down or spin back rather more. The Tour Soft I felt was a good compromise between Chrome Soft/Srixon and PoV1x/TP5x. It's pretty similar of the tee with driver/woods with similar ball flights to ProV1x and TP5x. Irons they perform pretty similar to other premier balls. Chipping characteristics are between ProV1 and ProV1x. The biggest thing I noticed was putts surprisingly. While all other balls felt rather similar and went similar distances of similar strokes and green speed, Tour Soft felt to roll out more and feels very soft of the face. My 2 cents.

I like Chromesoft, but I'm sticking with the Snell MTB Black.

Sirloin cover? Do they come with a bottle of A1 sauce?

I see it as a slap in the face of Titleist's competition. They are saying we made a ball better than their premium ball but it still isn't as good as our premium ball. So basically our premium ball is so much better than theirs that we can develop a mid level ball that is better than theirs. Boom!

Wow It’s seems there is a lot of “new” technology in golf balls Who would of thunk. I’m more interested in the new Project a and the brand new Project s. how about a quick review of those two new balls.. when the snow melts can’t wait to give them a try

Well done dude.  It does make absolutely no sense.  It should be compared to the Q Star or the Supersoft.  I won't waste my money on it.  Maybe in the winter when I need a soft crap ball.  And with a thin cover I am sure a few wedge shots will have that scuffed in no time.  Now the AVX is a great ball and your point about that is right on.  I have played about 10 rounds with the AVX and I like them as much as the 330RX.  But if they try and over price them I will stick with the 330 or Tru  Vis (whichever is on sale).

Hello David, well made video! I believe compairing golf balls on driver length is redundant. Far more important is the ball beheviour on chip, pitch and iron shots. Preferences in sound and feel is different for everybody, but stability in ball results shot to shot is the most important in my opinion. Results with driver are more or less the same with every different ball, 5 yards difference in a controlled enviroment will not be noticeable in the 'real' world.

I don't see a problem here from Titleist. They say that the Tour Soft is better than Chrome Soft, and the Prov is WAY better than the Chrome Soft.

What is the compression ratio of the titelist tour soft?

I bought a dozen tour softs. Good feel and spin but not sure it's longer than chromsoft. Also it's definitely not softer than Chromesoft. Good ball for the price and I might buy this over the ProVi balls.

I have used Chrome soft, Tour Soft and now AVX. I can say from my experience the AVX is longer that the Tour Soft in my experience. We are talking all good quality balls here. Tour Soft as good as Chrome Soft? I don't think so. its a very good quality two piece ball. Spider Dubiel

Believe me CALLAWAY CHROME SOFT golf balls are actually longer off the tee and and longer with FAIRWAY woods hybrids and irons and wedges and better coming off the putter.

The title of this video made me think I was going to see some quantitative analysis and data. Nope. Just another motor mouth who likes to hear himself talk.
