"Yeah but we live in the world of magic, and have potions and magical items that prevent one from lying, as well as spells that show your memories or create unbreakable vows to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. Any one of those would have taken less time than this entire hearing"
"... uhh ... YOU HAVE NO WITNESSES!"

Fun fact from the books: it was Umbridge who set the dementors on Harry

It is true that Harry produced a Patronus Charm in the presence of a muggle, but there were some MAJOR details that Umbridge left out.

A. The muggle in question was Harry's cousin, Dudley, who already knew that he was a wizard.

B. Harry cast the Patronus Charm to defend himself and Dudley from the dementors.

One of the things I like about this writing is that when Voldemort comes back, it isn’t just scary bad guy attacking everyone else, rather everything starts rotting on its own and people fight each other. I also like the subtleties of it, the hidden attacks like moving the hearing to try and prevent Dumbledore from being there. No magic, just social trickery
