Man i remember when i used to own a lifted GMC 1500....good time where i cruised around and people stare cause my truck would be all blacked out. Its all fun and games until you start having issues with how to handle the truck. One main thing i hated was parking....but the best thing i'll always miss is mudding with it and driving through rains and floods. I cry.

I had a lifted gmc truck for awhile. Definitely cool, turned heads. It was blacked out too. Dude at a stop light rolled his window down and said "its ironhide, man!" Still makes me laugh. Got like 1/2 mile per gallon. Sold it for my 22 Silverado. Stock height. Won't go back to a lifted truck. Way too hard to load the bed with stuff and I hurt my knee trying to hop off the tailgate.

Yeah from experience with me the wind really pushes you even with just a 2 inch lift on the Silverado trail boss

Tire noise isn't bad when new but when they get miles on them, they get louder and louder...

The GMC Sierra 1500 is a popular truck model known for its durability and strength. Recently, the trend of lifting these trucks has become increasingly popular. However, is lifting the new Sierra a good idea?

The Pros of Lifting a GMC Sierra 1500

One of the main benefits of lifting a GMC Sierra 1500 is the increased ground clearance. This allows for better off-road capabilities and the ability to tackle rough terrain. Additionally, a lifted truck can provide a more commanding presence on the road and can be a great way to stand out from the crowd.

Another advantage of lifting a GMC Sierra 1500 is the ability to install larger wheels and tires. This can improve traction and handling, especially in off-road situations. Additionally, larger wheels and tires can enhance the overall look of the truck.

The Cons of Lifting a GMC Sierra 1500

While there are many benefits to lifting a GMC Sierra 1500, there are also some drawbacks to consider. One of the main concerns is the impact on fuel economy. A lifted truck typically has a higher center of gravity, which can lead to decreased fuel efficiency.

Another potential downside to lifting a GMC Sierra 1500 is the impact on ride quality. A lifted truck can be more difficult to handle on the road and can be less comfortable for passengers. Additionally, a lifted truck may require modifications to the suspension system, which can be costly.

The Legal Considerations

It is important to note that lifting a GMC Sierra 1500 may have legal implications. Each state has its own laws regarding lifted trucks, and it is important to ensure that any modifications made to the vehicle are compliant with local regulations. Failure to comply with these laws can result in fines and even impoundment of the vehicle.

The Bottom Line

Ultimately, the decision to lift a GMC Sierra 1500 comes down to personal preference and intended use. If you plan on using your truck for off-road adventures and want to make a statement on the road, lifting may be a good option. However, if you prioritize fuel efficiency and ride comfort, a lifted truck may not be the best choice.

Regardless of your decision, it is important to consult with a professional mechanic or dealer before making any modifications to your vehicle. They can provide guidance on the best options for your specific needs and ensure that any modifications are made safely and legally.

Conclusion

Lifting a GMC Sierra 1500 can be a great way to enhance the performance and appearance of your truck. However, it is important to consider the potential drawbacks and legal considerations before making any modifications. By weighing the pros and cons and consulting with a professional, you can make an informed decision that meets your needs and preferences.

35 inch tires reality arent that much larger than stock tires. The brakes and engine and steering will be able to handle that without any major upgrades.
Now if you step up to the Big Boy 44 inch tires, then you need to do a lot of modifications and upgrades.

Is that one still there or anyone's like those

Dude it’s a 35 inch tire. Most stock tires are 32.5/33. That v8 will handle those tires no problem. That motor will laugh at those tires.

I just got the level 2.5inch on my GMC with 33s, didn’t really feel like I needed to go higher.

Is it possible to get the speed in the center of that Dash instead of that Arrow

For towing purposes the towing capability will be a bit less then when it wasn’t lifted

When there is an intersection that has a street entering, then that street has a stop sign. You had the right of way.
