For me my list of progression with economy yoyos was like this. Started with a Responsive Whip from YYF @ $5.99, Next the D1 for looping which I found on Ebay 2 for $5.99, Next the MYY N12 for unresponsive play on NewEgg for $7, if you want a faster player try the MYY Node 01 for $10-$14 on Ebay. My mid-range choices would be the MYY Carpfin, Throw Cafe Capaccino or Synthesis (Thesis Yoyos). I don't know if you can buy direct from YYF in Australia but you often see sales on the Basecamp Navigator or Space Cadet for $50 which is awsome. My favorite fingerspinner is the Veritas Pro which is a mid range yoyo also. I don't throw for speed or competition so I never bothered with a Shutter but I hear they are good.

My standard gift pack for family and friends who may or may not like Yoyo's is a WHIP, a MYY T5 Overlord and a MYY D1. This comes in less then $18 USD and I tell then if they hate it just gift them to another friend.

Could I have one of the yoyos you don't use anymore?
