I love this idea. I picked up my J Mascis Squire Jazzmaster for its bell-like tones, hoping it would help me sound less like a cliche rock guitar player; I was thinking (in fact) "wouldn't it be lovely to make this guitar sound like a horn" (or to approach it as a horn instead of a shred machine or power chord generator). I would love to see more horn--oriented songs covered on guitar!!

Definitely love the jazz lessons, so please do keep these in your rotation! One of the many truly wonderful features of your channel and your Patreon is the variety of styles you share and teach, and your remarkable ear for things we might often miss, be it an artist we’ve overlooked, a song of a known artist that rarely gets examined, or a way of approaching the instrument that’s uniquely yours. Thank you so much for all you do!

I like the jazz, I don't connect with a lot of jazz emotionally but I really respect the musicianship. I really like the chord harmony songs, especially songs from other genres made more jazzy.

Hahaha... can´t believe this video came along a week after struggling with Billie's Bounce. I referenced the George Benson version which goes along a 100 MPH. Totally agree about jazz opening up new avenues that rock/Pop doesn't go down. Thnx for the vid Adrian.

Thanks Adrian, I am up for more Jazz Guitar in this format.
For me, based on what you said in this vid, it is a way to integrate more syncopation into our playing.

This is a good inroduction to bebop jazz and I would definitely like to see some more Jazz from you. I appreciated the Charlie Christian videos you've done, they are superbly done. ..From the aspect of learning chromaticism, which can then be applied to any genre of music, I think learning some jazz phrasing is essential. Basically . it is the Blues made slightly more technical. As Grant Green used to say"'Everything is basically Blues" and that was I think how he approached every tune. Interestingly, Wes, Grant and Charlie Christian were all considered basic Blues players by the critics when they first arrived on the scene. But every major rock guitarist has been influenced by Jazz players..Think of Frampton, Page, Andy Summers, list is endless.. Jazz instructor Mickey Baker would be proud to see you using a 'Jazzmaster'. LOL
