I visited the museum and walked over both Pegasus Bridge and the newer replacement back in 2018.I throughly enjoyed my visit there.Id agree with you idea because it’s about a moment in time in that area and not crowded with the bigger picture that it was so interesting.i was impressed that So many of the men involved had donated items & medals they’d received for the battle there.if you ever get the opportunity to visit I go .

Thanks for this. I went a few years back and see it hasn't changed much. I agree with you on the old bridge. It just looks like an old bridge in a field and yet it's significance was immense! Thanks for including the old news clip as well. In the film The Longest Day not many people know that actor Richard Todd greets the real Richard Todd if you see what I mean!
The museum is well worth a visit and people who go should also take a wander around the surrounding area and marvel at the airmanship of the glider pilots who put their aircraft down so accurately in the pitch back in war time.

Nice video; I haven't been thru the new bridge but we would always dip our Red Ensign (retired coaster sailor) as we passed thru the old bridge on our way up to Caen as a mark of respect.
Keep safe, keep sane in these trying times and keep posting.

Being there about ten days ago. A very good museum, well done and full of interesting gears of the British Airborne troops. Not too big, but really interesting and worth of a visit. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Italy.

Great vid, I'm trying to find out about the 3.7cm flak 18, it is the kriegsmarine version of the 3.7 flak 37, because when you see them side by side they look a little different, I can't seem to find much information on the 18 at all only a few pictures, thanks and keep the knowledge rolling..

Man thats Heart Breaking, as i thought they had only removed it not long before they built the New Museum to save it as a Memorial and had then replaced it with a more modern/up to date Bridge, but to learn that they were going to Scrap it!!? WTF France it's a National Monument of France's Darkest Hours in History, they would have been mad to destroy it, thank The French Resistance that never Happened. VIVE LA FRANCE! VIVE LA LIBERTÉ!
