Affinity is my least favorite Sarah Waters as well. Still good, just not on her usual level. I’ve still got a few more to go, I don’t want to catch up and run out. But your favorites are all the ones I’ve read and adored!

Hi Lauren Birthday! Wedding! Christmas! Minimoon! It's all goin on. Just finished Fingersmith on your (and possibly Jen and Simon's recommendation). Really liked it; clever plotting, charactetisation and setting depiction. B ut tho Maud and Susan were a plucky pair i found them hard to like- all that pinching and bruising. Hope Dainty got 'er pound back anf Charlie Wag got a better deal.

The read aloud part was great, especially since I read the end in a rush trying to get done, it was nice to hear it again properly. Feel free to read a bit every time - the first page or your favorite paragraph or something like that!
