Also as someone with basically 0 knowledge of ADV OU outside of your videos, it'd be interesting to see a video on weird/unconventional mons like Jynx that aren't even remotely close to OU now, but had solid niches in ADV OU.

TWO BKC videos in one week? What a time to be alive.

Excited to see the history, it's good to put this on play while exercising!

as someone who played advance back in the day, this is super weird and cool to see!

Last, I really appreciate that you-a very skilled and well-respected player-point out you're not talking trash about players of old when you talk about how Moltres/Latias/whatever mon now are accepted to be better/worse than they were back in the day. The meta changes as you noted, and people discover new sets/team options/etc., which can totally change how a mon is used and how viable it is. Mega Mawile wasn't busted IMMEDIATELY in Gen 6 OU, but after a while and when sets like SubPunch were discovered as ways to blow past conventional answers like Heatran, Mega Mawile became broken. Does that mean that prior to the Mega Mawile ban or even between the previous ban (Mega Metagross I think) and Mega Mawile's banning, top-tier players in Gen 6 OU were just bad for not realizing how good it was? No!

Great content as ever, and this time the audio was good too ;)

Glad to see BKC show some love for the Blazing Flying Chicken. Good video as always.

Maybe consider covering a replay in a bit more depth when you show an example of pokemon in use. It feels a little short handed when we get to those parts and they are very useful for reinforcing the points you make earlier in the video. I get that you'll want to show several to cover all the bases but maybe one really strong example first with a more in-depth look then some others where they go by at the pace you did in this video.

31:13 "And this is a perfectly fine physical offense team. Nothing you can really shit on too hard."
Yes, you can.

funny how moltres was underestimated in adv just as in sm where it rose to uu bco stall. still with and offensive set like flyinium z it can shred thru teams just bco its great stabs. if it just had no guard, good lord lol

Moltres is my favorite of the bird trio. It feels like the one burd no one talks about because articuno is pretty and zapdos is good, but I've always preferred moltres. I'm glad it's being recognized as good.

Awesome video! ADV is damn cool, even if I really don't get may of the intricacies, as a GSC player.

For a follow up, in a very similar vein: Jynx GSC. Bonus points if you include some reps against Ch01W0n5h1n.

Edit: I check the channel but don't find one

Hey Kevin, really enjoyed the video! Wanted to ask, a couple of my friends play RSE Battle Tower and use sub protect wisp with morning sun as a PP stall. Anything like that worked in RSE OU?

Sorry haven't watched this in full yet. Just here to spout some verbiage..."Zard more viable than Tres"...Charizard needs the love too! (my opinion) same typing and too good of a speed tier and movepool to get neglected! sucks not getting will-o-wisp for phys offense, but that move can get kinda shaky with the accuracy anyway. I like Zard's unpredictability and speed so it can tie Zapdos/Flygon/Salamence/Celebi/Jirachi, unlike Moltres - Fire/Flying is the bee's knees at any rate. (nice defensive properties and STAB is great on the special move)

Blaze is entirely better than Pressure, as well...Charizard wins the Gengar match-up from near full health due to it. Zard is fast enough that it can switch out when low (in Blaze) and pick and pop shit in double switch or revenge-like fashion with 1.5x more damage at that point, it is a lovely thing. (throw in the 10% burn on the Cune/Pert/Starmie and it gets crazy - I am assuming Fire Blast, so 85% accuracy is the upfront risk to all of this.)

Thank you for shedding light on Moltres so we get how this Phoenix Bird works, which is a lot like how the similarly-typed Flame Lizardon could work for a team, defensively/offensively too.

I know this is an older video and I know that this will not matter and I’m just pointing it out, but on the magneton offense example you made, Rest Gyarados is a decent check. But it goes to your example if something is forced to rest defensively then it’s on the back foot. So it still stands but it’s still an option

Why Are duplicate items allowed in adv? Weren’t there rules against that in the games

Is great to see Moltres getting some recognition.
Moreover, in these days I've made an Emerald Battle Frontier team around PP stalling Moltres, and it has the potential to beat my previous record.

If interested check it out on my channel or here for the post with exportable:
