McVintage Lake Day! - Traditional Tackle & Unusual Bait! 🍟🎣 #fishing

A slight change from the norm...

We give a few bits of vintage tackle another chance to shine and catch a fish. One of the rods used is a 1954 Hardy Avon One. A cane rod with split cane tip section. This is paired with an S E Cooke's Duracast reel.
The bait, though, well, that's a little unorthodox and definitely not vintage!!
Join us for a little light hearted fishing. After all, I can't be all about the floats! (Can it??)

Que jornada más placentera!.
Equipo clásico bellísimo, flotadores construidos por uno mismo y, encima, buenos peces.
Enhorabuena y gracias por compartir.

Enjoyable watch Andy, very interesting seeing your vintage rods and tackle in use. Reminds me when I first started fishing using split cane rods. I still have one of my rods that I used as a young boy. Happiest of days they were. 🎣👍

Andy, That fight reminds us why the carp was so challenging to anglers in the early 60s when I started fishing. It took a while to land a double on a 12ft split cane rod!

Thanks for sharing this video Andy.. I love the way the action on the Hardy rod changes from the cane to split section.. I am looking forward to potential videos of the new float up close if they come to production.. Tight lines and looking forward to the next one!

Cheers
Paul.

Old meets new 🎣🐟 And they both catch you fish 😎 A really entertaining watch and extra lovely to see some summer action after the wet, autumn week we’ve just endured. New float looks grand and nice that Aly caught some close up shots of the bites 👌 Welcome back 💙

What a lovely video and a man after my own heart! Cane rod, cane net / handle and (in my case) a centrepin. I make my own floats, nothing on the scale or quality as yours but nice to see them go down. Tight lines.

Hi Andy,
Nice to see you trying peacock quill.
I, ve always found that peacock is best used in Shorter lengths with an insert or as it is, or with an antenna body. Just an observation mate. Defo gonna get some Baileys no1, shop bought groundbait is extortionate

Looking forward to seeing the peacock waggler in the making Andy, as you are my go to guru on float manufacture. Can hardly wait to get going ! ✌❤ Bob
