Let the consumers determine what type of car they want to drive, not the gov’t.

@4:34 The kill switch will start out being sold as a drunk driving deterrent but it will expand to its original intentions of: limiting your weekly mileage, limiting the distance you are allowed to travel from your house, and prohibiting driving on certain days of the week. And all because "Muh climate change!" Locate & disable the SIM card, put black electrical tape over the camera watching your eyes, and disable any interior microphones if you value your privacy. Because of the kill switch older cars without all this surveillance/data collection tech installed will eventually be outlawed or made too expensive to insure. They'll be taken off the roads one way or another. It's all about control and losing freedoms.

We drive a 1999 Jeep and a 2007 Chrysler mini van. We have no intention of buying any new cars again. We just did a complete suspension overhaul on the Jeep with new bushings etc. this was less than 1 month payment on a new car. I do not like all the screens in new cars. I just want the basic knobs and buttons. I have no need for an entire infotainment system in my car when all I need it to do is play some CDs or music off a thumb drive.

Manufacturers got greedy following COVID. They realized people were willing to pay $10k+ more for vehicles so raised prices while simultaneously reducing quality. Dealers also got greedy, which is why they still won't budge on MSRPs and keep adding more bogus fees to increase tgeir profits on already overpriced cars. Consumers need to stop buying new cars for a few years to force prices to come back down. $50k+ for basic family transportation is obscene and unjustifiable

Did she say the growing popularity of electric vehicles? I'm surprised Lauren didn't correct her.

It's NOT about "Popularity, " it's about "Lease Deals."

They are leasing these vehicles well below their ICE counterparts to get them off their lots.

"Curiosity, " is the second part of the equation.

They love to blur leasing and actual sales together to make numbers appear larger for the sales end of reporting.

So, a start stop button that detects alcohol. I predict it will malfunction if I use hand sanitizer, but if I'm completely sloshed, I can use gloves and still get it to start.

That is a stupid idea.

Surging popularity of electric vehicles?

Sportscars? Who buys sportscars? Sportscars are a niche area in the automotive world. They are frivolous and are just toys for those who have disposable income. Who has that in today's economy? We are struggling just to have a roof over our heads and to put food on the table.

Meanwhile in reality" Older well-built pre-emissions/forced government nanny state mandate vehicle prices are going nuts.

They think that limiting the speed limit is going to save more
Lives then how is it that German autobahn has less fatalities with a much higher speed limit ? Hmm 🤔

Things just keep getting weirder and worse by the year. Hopefully some normalcy can come during 2025!

Customers stayed away from Nissan mostly because of their stupid insistence to use CVT's transmissions and not a very good ones at that, now they are struggling. The message is LISTEN to your customers and not try and force them to accept things they don't like.

Renault owns a lot of Nissan and Mitsubishi.
Plus Honda did have a body on frame vehicle. It wasn’t a truck, it was an SUV. It was the Isuzu Rodeo sold as the Honda Passport. Isuzu got the 4 cylinder Odyssey and sold it as the Oasis. The Passport was not very good, and it was obvious that it wasn’t a true Honda. I’d hate to see Honda’s get watered down like these modern Nissan’s and Mitsubishi’s. I remember when Nissan stood side by side with Honda quality. Not today

My reason to avoid Nissan now is the transmission, the cvt. Older models with older automatics are more desirable. The Honda cvt is better executed.
