Breaking up the big tech companies would be crippling to American leadership in tech. It will raise the likelihood that their dominance will be replaced by rising foreign big tech companies out of the reach of American regulators who will only be too happy to exploit the economy of scale advantages no longer enjoyed by the broken up companies. Facebook, Google, Amazon and so forth have their fair share of problems and governments do have a role in making them act responsibly. But it's far better that over two billion people around the world choose an American platform (Facebook) as their social media outlet than a Chinese big tech company.

She has the right social policies. But when she talks about Google not having competition with itself she loses me. I mean look at all the text/chat apps Google launches against other Google text/chat apps and how many fail. I personally loved Allo but that also competed with Google Voice, Google Text, Hangouts, and Google Chat. Which also competes with Skype, Native Text Apps that come preinstalled, iMessage, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, KokaoTalk, Line, WeChat, Discord, Kik, Telegram, Snapchat, Instagram etc. It's shooting our biggest companies in the foot for being popular at it's best and has zero to do with actually improving the tech sector nor any aspect of competition.

Business is about competition. Competition produced Amazon, Google, and Facebook. Elizabeth Warren wants to replace competition with politics. We rely on competition because it produces better results. Google and Amazon are among the best in American history. Politicians regularly produce failure. Elizabeth Warren appears to be one of the worst.

Google search engine is great because of its large userbase. Scale is good for the search consumer. Conclusion: Breaking up Google is bad for the consumer. If you don't like Google, use Bing (I do occasionally and its actually pretty good, and improving.) Warren is going for angry voters, but does she does not really understand what drives great search.

I’ve heard allot of well respected tech entrepreneurs who are totally on board with this.

Unfortunately, Liarwatha has no credibility so anything she says isn't taken seriously anymore.
