What Exactly Is a Black Hole Event Horizon?

Even with the iconic photo of 2019, black holes remain very enigmatic, and extremely difficult to understand. For instance, nothing that falls into a black hole can ever be recaptured, and yet, according to modern physics, no information can be destroyed. So Where does this information go? Is it preserved, and somehow “spit out” again? Also, do black holes “go anywhere”? A key component of this conundrum is what is called the “event horizon”, where all sorts of weird things seem to happen. It’s time to take a trip to an event horizon.

I have to do a project about black holes and this really helped me. Thank you!

Nice one. Fantastic images but it would be nice with some "south park like" animations showing how a human in a spaceship might percieve the universe at, in and beyond the event horizon, particle horizon ect.

I like how you explained everything from the beginning, so we have a better understanding, and also about these 4 telescopes and how data is processed by combining them together. Those are some practical information that helps us to bond theory with the real world and how we do things today. Thank you.

This is really great content. Everything is very well researched, I learned quite a bit. And I love the concept of the Clarity Horizon; these branches of physics are mind bending. 😵‍💫

Wrong information at 6:43: The speed of light measured in Metric System is 300, 000 kilometers per second (km/s), not 3, 000 km/s. The speed of light measured in British Imperial System was provided correctly though, i.e. 186, 000 miles per second (ml/s).

Black holes are neat.

That may have been read as sarcasm, but I mean it.

8:25 in. 12/19/22. My theory is the What I call the Leo theory. Which is that matter acquired and observed is the example of gravity bending in time. U said rocket breaking through. Now take a bomb and a mushroom cloud. If there is no space for the bomb 2 impact then what will make it explode. The answer is non cohesive bonds. Not the black hole ring. On pic 8:25. Is the mushroom cloud of an expanding yet collapsing result of an explosion. Like the atom bomb which sucks in matter at an impact and displaces matter at equal and opposite retraction.
