it's the same in low elo except the adc brings cleanse and doesn't even use it, effectively meaning they only have flash (which they mostly use in response to getting 1 cs stolen by their support)

It also has to do with the removal of scaling tenacity runes and Mercs being understatted. Overall, harder access to Tenacity and the barrier meta being the norm worked in her favor, so a lot of little things going well for her resulted in that absurd WR.

not only that, her w gives her so much resistances for free that the hp she gets from rushing warmog's become much more valuable.

Leona building warmogs, swifties, heartsteel and a bramble vest ended up doing 21k dmg, more than 4 people in the game, and ended up tanking around 60k dmg. Here ult and all cc abilites would end up killing someone with 2k hp.

She's also one of engage supports who can engage without walking into adc range because of her ult. It's really helpful in the current range meta. Even if adc sidesteps stun, slow is still pretty severe and long lasting. She can use it carelessly because cooldown is really low

As mentioned quite a few times, part of her success is because legend tenacity has also been removed.
I understand why they did this, as taking that rune aswell as mercs made cc useless. My suggestion would be to reintroduce legend tenacity so long as it doesnt stack with items. Certain champs/roles mostly adc, want some tenacity but arent going to itemise it.

Also leona is like the Garen in support role, in low elo she's the easiest champion to play with high net positive towards the team. ADCs below emerald don't understand or don't really care enough to know the match up and realize too late that being CC'd 4-5 seconds makes your lane unplayable past lvl 6.

She is also disproportionately benefited by the warmogs meta because of the resists on her w. Nerfing leona is the wrong thing to do, you need to nerf barrier and warmogs

I don't think it's just that. Wamogs is an insane item on her and pretty strong right now. Engage Supports are strong. Movementspeed is a very insane stat on Leona and she can snowball/ is really strong early. I think there are multiple factors like these why she is so strong right now

Facing a good leona as nautilus is always challenging yet fun experience.(not for our ad carry's)

Also haven't encountered a rude/trash talker so far, they play aggressive but humble.

This is a minor reason. The real reason is that it's Leona bruh.

Also tell is the same if not better. She doesn't have the dash but 2 stuns that can hit multiple people and an ult to pull them away along with breaking shields and basically making cleanse irrelevant from lvl 2

It does come into perspective when barrier has a value of 120 at just level 1 and 225 at 6 where some of the harder trading happens when people are trying to aim for early prio, the barrier just cucks so much of early damage where you'd just barely still have even one item

Plus her w's flat damage reduction is really strong against burns and DOTs. A brand/zyra meta is also a Leona meta

also the way building tank works leo gets the most free resistances from her W plus the new cdr tank runes she lasts the longest in fights and has the lowest cd cc. After leo gets nerfed it will be rell in her place with the sheild shred on her Q
