As God began working out His plan for His oppressed people, He used the faith of a humble Hebrew couple, the wise strategy of a loving mother, and His own providential work in the heart of an Egyptian princess to preserve the life of the one who would lead Israel to freedom.

I had never learned that about Pharaoh's daughter changing her name and becoming a believer.

I so enjoyed your cross-referencing I Chron 4:17 with Exodus 2. It really does pay to read all those names in the genealogies and lists!! Bithia, "daughter of Jehovah." Without those names and details, this fact would have been missed this side of heaven.

When the NT adds more detail than is present in the OT, how much credence should we give the new detail? For example, Acts says Moses was 40 years old when he killed the Egyptian whereas Exodus doesn't specify (Ex 2:11/Acts 7:23) and the period "during those many days" that Moses was in Midian is actually 40 years (Ex 2:23/Acts 7:30). I would have answered my own question with "since the NT is God-breathed too, these extra details were revealed by God", but my ESV Bible's commentary for Ex 2:11 says something that throws me off... referring to the phrase "when Moses had grown up" the commentary says, "In Acts 7:23 Stephen gives Moses' age at this time as 40 (reflecting Jewish interpretative tradition)"... It's that parenthetical that is concerning. Can you elaborate?

The only evidence we have of Moses is found in the Bible. There is no reference to Moses in Egyptian culture. Especially 600, 000 Hebrew men and their families. It's ancient Hebrew nationalism.
