Stefan Grant says while he was renting an Airbnb property in Atlanta, neighbors of the home called the police thinking that he and his friends were burglars. Airbnb has released a report in 2016 on how it will combat discrimination on its platform and updated it in 2019, but some say racism permeates throughout their travel experiences. #InsideEdition

Uhhhh...this sounds like it had nothing to do with racism. Though, if it was an Air BNB rental, the owner should have informed their neighbors or put an Air BNB sign in front to inform people that they rent it out to strangers.

I understand racism still exists, but how will it restrict one’s travels? When did anyone in 2020 say they can’t travel because their black?

I lived in England off and on for 5 years..never had any significant issues aside from cross looks periodically. Italy was a weird vibe for me, but no one said anything off-putting. I've spent time in many other EU countries and Russia was by far the most odd, but again did not encounter racism, merely interactional discomfort at times. Demeanor, sex and appearance I believe make a great deal of difference, because I've heard horror stories from US citizens living or visiting abroad to the same areas that faced striking differences in behavior from locals than what I experienced.

I have a "friend" here in orlando. He says he hates renting to young black people because of his previous bad experiences(many). He seems like a terrible RACIST!!!
What should I do? I'm not sure because he's black himself

I have to say, Im a black man that lives in a Condo Community with about 250 Condos and I am the ONLY Black person in the communtiy and Whites treat me very nicely. On the OTHER hand, when I go to black neighborhoods, I get nothing but Attitude!

If a White dude rented a BnB in a Black neighborhood, do you really think the neighbors would not call the cops on him? Or greet him with a gun, and demand to know what the heck he was doing there?
