You are confused with ARC and CEC, cec means common electronics control..
ARC means audio reverse channel.. (means home theater speakers etc have hdmi they can take audio out from hdmi and play).
The one you said we can control amazon fire tv remote with this mi remote feature is called hdmi cec., it'll be enabled usually on all hdmi ports connected to TV :)

Few things I just cant understand. ok 4k display is missing fine, but we are unable to play youtube videos in 1080p in a 43 inch smart TV ?? This is ridiculous I feel. Also, they could have given extra ram and storage as many important or must apps are missing...
