An Irish music group, Lúnasa is named after an ancient Celtic harvest festival honoring the Irish god Lugh. Lúnasa has performed internationally and has recorded a number of albums of both traditional and contemporary instrumental Irish music. They performed at The John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts in Eugene, Oregon on March 20, 2024.
Formed in 1997, Lúnasa’s most recent albums include their 2018 album “CAS” and 2024 “Live in Kyoto” project. Current band members are Kevin Crawford (flutes, whistles), Cillian Vallely (Uilleann pipes, whistles), Seán Smyth (fiddle, whistles), Trevor Hutchinson (double bass) and Ed Boyd (guitar).
