Hi Pete. Appears the Cut-50 dp has been discontinued. No $199.00 anymore. Cut 55dp is available for $249. I currently have a non-pilot PrimeWeld 50amp that's a couple years old. As we all learn, the pilot arc is the "only way to go", in my humble opine! But when I bought mine, your channel was just a "gleam in your eye". I think I can sell my PrimeWeld for a $100, so for a $150 difference I can upgrade.

If you're cutting thin stuff with lower amperage, it's nice to be able to easily adjust your PSI down so you don't blow out your arc. :)

Good review on those two cutters! Nice to see that the one I purchased a few months back made the review. I haven't gotten to use the bestarc much but from what I have cut it does a great job. Of course it's the only one I have so I can't compare it with anything else, but I'm happy with it. Thanks for the video and glad to see that your hand is healing!

Probably good machines but for over $500 you may be better off getting a locally provided one.
There are some great ones out there for that price.
And you get a correct power plug and hopefully local backup.

Hello from Auckland!!

I have been watching a few of your videos on plasma cutters. I brought one about 3 years ago and used it to cut a 1200x2400x10mm steel plate. It worked absolutely fine for that job. I have not used it for 3 years and when I pulled it out to do a job it does not work anymore. The warrantee has expired now :(
It is a 3 in 1 unit and the arc welder works fine. But, the plasma and TIG don't work. There is plenty of air and it looks like the arc thingy on the HF inside the welder is arcking ok, but the torch only shows small sparks. I have tried all new consumables. Any ideas on what the issue may be, or where to start looking?

3 or 5 mm is not exactly really heavy steel it's still considered thin why not try some 1" steel and see what plasma cutter will cut the thickest steel?
