The Moors, the Brontë Waterfall & the Brontë Sisters

Walk with me to the Brontë Waterfall on the Moors above Haworth where I imagine what it would have been like for Charlotte, Emily, Anne and Branwell Brontë. On the way I reflect on how the surroundings influenced their writing and investigate what Charlotte Brontë and her friend Ellen Nussey said about this beautiful landscape.

If you'd like to support my channel, I have a Ko-Fi account where you can donate the cost of a brew. I'm truly grateful for the gesture, but please know that your support by watching, liking, and subscribing is more than enough. ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Kate—a huge fan of the Brontë Sisters for many years. Upon relocating to Yorkshire with my husband, I found myself irresistibly drawn to the village of Haworth, home of the Brontë Sisters and my obsession grew. It was during the challenging days of the Lockdown in 2020 that I decided to channel my passion into action. Disappointed by the lack of quality Brontë-themed goodies available, I embarked on a mission to create my own and my online shop was born.
Since then, I've immersed myself in the world of literature, attending Book Festivals and events across the UK. Inspired by my adventures and encouraged by the enthusiastic response from fellow Brontë enthusiasts on social media, I decided to share my experiences through YouTube videos.

It's three decades since I hiked with my walking friend (sadly no longer with us) to the Bronte falls and Top Withens. This brought back wonderful memories, and reminded me it's high time I re-visited.

Great video, I first loved Jane Eyre more than 40 years ago. Thank you for teaching us more about the Bronte sisters. Love your channel.

What a lovely walk you had. Sigh, one of these days, I hope to follow along the same path that you show in this video.

My only thoughts on seeing that final stoney path leading to the falls was - what a perfect spot for a compound fracture or two. Very scary to walk over and I doubt I could keep my balance. Good for you, walking it and filming at the same time.

Thank you for a wonderful show, I enjoy every minute! About the cattle grates, I have found it easier to put the bar directly under my foot, at the instep and, if you have a walking stick ( I never leave home without one) you will always be stable. Just take your time. Hope this makes your cattle grate encounters stress free in the future - roam away! I'm watching from NW Pennsylvania, USA.

Did Emily keep Keeper on a lead, I wonder? Has there ever been a lead strong enough to keep Keeper kept? 🤔 Really enjoyed the video. I tend to visit in November, so it's lovely to see that walk and the falls at a different time of year.

Is it known if Charlotte was the one to carve her name into the 'seat' ?
