Nicolas Cage signs on to reboot the "Left Behind" movie franchise originally starring Kirk Cameron. The apocalyptic series chronicles the end of the world according to the biblical story of the end of days.

There was an interesting interview with Neveldine/Taylor where they talked about how willing Nic Cage was to "go for it" no matter how strange a story is. I think you have to embrace the idea that it's supposed to be ridiculous and enjoy it for the spectacle that it is. :)

I'm not so sure. The one of the topics non-Christians often want to talk to me about right of the bat is Revelations and the End-Times. I'm neither a literalist nor an eschatologist, but I can see people being interested in this.

I feel if there is a Rapture, that it is imminent, as in the next couple of months and this movie could come out just AFTER the Rapture, of course I don't know what exactly will happen or when, but I'm feeling September, I guess we will find out whether my intuition is on point or not. xx I hope that this movie is out before the Rapture so i can take my loved ones to see it xx

They should change it so that the dragon and the three beasts in Revelations are literal Godzilla-like monsters in the movie.

I think that it's the actors that can bring life into what some people think is a boring story. Though I'm unsure as to whether or not there will be a rapture, it doesn't seem like a bad idea to explore this story line. Given that there are laws about using the same dialogue unless you have permission, there are ways of having good dialogue. This movie has different people working on it, as they are going for a more "Hollywood" feel, so odds are it's going to be much better than the original.

The Left Behind site says that the movie will focus on the first few hours after the Rapture so Nicolae Carpathia will not be in it.

I really, really, REEAALLLY hope they bring back Gordon Currie as Carpathia. They couldn't have picked a better actor! ^_^

Absolutely! On the official FB page, Peter Lalonde states he doesn't know the " salvation status" of the cast and crew. Who knows, this may take Nicolas Cage to accept Christ (this goes for the cast and crew also). Not just for the audience either. With this, more celebs will come forward as born again Christians.
