He probably thought it was just your typical hamster wheel. Then he found out it was the hamster wheel from hell. The owner turned it on and probably left it on for a week. Reminds me of an episonde of Flash where one version of Flash was forced to run full speed on a treadmill for eternity until he ended up like the critter in this video.

We just had this happen but instead of it being a rat it was a wad of paper shop towels. We had just taken our daughters car in for a recall and they called us to tell us that the blower motor was going out and they recommended having it done at the same time. We declined and they gave us a real hard sell on how it would be cheaper if we just did it now while they had the dash apart since the labor would be about half. Again, we said no and sure enough when we picked up the car the blower motor was making noise. So, I decided to do the work myself and after taking the whole dash apart to get to the blower motor I found 4 paper shop towels wadded up and shoved in the fan assembly. After removing the towels, it worked fine. When I went back to the shop, they told me that we must have left the paper towels on the dash, and they got sucked in. Only problem, the air inlet comes from the engine compartment and there is also a cabin air filter. But what was really funny was that the technician had used paper towels and one of them had notes written on it and the handwriting on the paper towel easily matched the notes attached to the estimate the shop gave us. After showing them that they told us he must have left them in there by accident when he was looking at the fan and that by doing so, they must have knocked something loose and actually fixed the problem for us. LOL! Sure thing, and I have a bridge in London to sell you on the cheap.

Had the same issue. A buddy of mine worked on it. He opened it up, grabbed something out and chunked it and put it back together and said, "Fixed it." I asked, "What did you just throw out?" He said, a rat lolol

I got really low air blower I open mine up and there was a mouse nest. the whole thing was Full of leaf paper, I vacuum everything out luckily he’s not in there.

Omg! I just cleared a rats nest from where my cabin filter should've been. Now I'm looking at how to open the blower to get out whatever's making noise in there. THANKS. As if I wasn't already freaked out enough!! Eh- HEH!

This happened to me, except it was in the middle of summer. A chipmunk made it's way into the blower motor and died when I turned it on. I heard it fighting to survive once I turned off air... It smelled like death later that day... Smelled really bad. Had to remove blower and wash what I could access

No critters in mine but the motors that run the squirrel cage are of poor quality but expensive to replace. They run quiet for a few seasons but after that they get noisy. I removed my blower motor and gave it a solid cleaning and lubed up everything. It's still noisy. I wish that I could replace it with a better quality part.
