The Impact of the Septuagint on Modern Translations

I’ve been going back between the NASB and ESV as my primary formal equivalent Bible I use to help study Greek and Hebrew, and this might actually be the deciding factor in it as I’m a strong believer in the Septuagint.

I don’t like the ESV because of other decisions made. But this strategy is a good one because in many places the LXX is less corrupted than the Masoretic. The LXX is also the text quoted by NT authors, so is more aligned with the NT in these cases.

I like the ESV New Testament but don’t trust its Old Testament for that very reason.
