ebay o'scope how to, part one. the headunit

A quick video of how to use the cheap oscope available from ebay.
One thing to note, in this video the scope probe is on the x1 selector, not the x10.
See part two as well as this wasn't scripted so I did cover things in part two that probably should have been in part 1!!

@spanker1515 40hz I think - just using the dB drag test disc. you can scope it on whatever frequency you want though really. good way to learn the scope is to try a range of frequencies and get used to 'dialling in' the scope to the wave :)

@spanker1515 what I do (Alpine headunit) is to scope it at a lower volume, say volume 20, but turn the sub level up to around +10
This lets me have the sub turned down for daily listening, but then when an epic bass track comes on, turn the sub level up for panel rattling :)

Quick warning for others - mine was working and looked the same as in the video except it did not have the same startup screen. I tried the + and power on step and it seemed to freeze - just displays "digital storage oscilloscope" under the logo. Managed to get it back by powering on whilst holding the Play/Pause button (possibly after removing the SD card - I don't want to try it again). Mine says initialising every time I switch it on anyway without pressing any other buttons.

Thanks Jon. Got a 21 Track dB CD yesterday and Fully scoped my head unit and amp. Do you recomend running the Head Flat with no EQ and Bass boost all the time to help prevent clipping?

Hi I was thinking of getting on of these....I already have an expensive OScope at my workbench, but I want something portable. How has it held up? Is it good for use as a volt/amp meter for DC as well? and does the lag affect your ability to diagnose circuits and signals? Thanks in advance

I just got mine in today and when I start it up the menu looks different also the reset method you used in the video will not work. Any ideas? Im guessing it might be the firmware

where do u get this SE setting on urs? ive had 2 diff models now, currently DSONano201..and theres no such setting and mine looks completely diff than yours entierly
