The fact that Striker Eureka not only managed to hold out against Slattern, but it also lifted it slightly AND almost killed it is insane, considering how big Slattern truly is

Want bigger Jaegers in Pacific Rim future movies at 310 feet tall and 320 feet tall

If only they let the original director do Uprising and handle the new jaegers then the movie would not have become another by the numbers Hollywood movie, I don’t care if Del Toro released the movie by 2025 or 2027 at least he got the time, the people, the vfx and the competent writers to massively improve the story and quality. One of the key issues of Uprising is the way the jaegers move, they don’t have the weight, the build up, the camera angles to give us that sense of scale and they didn’t utilize their weapons properly.

Take these two scenes from Uprising for example, when Valor Omega was met with the drone hybrids, instead of firing both arm cannons to keep them distracted until reinforcements arrived to finish them off instead they do shoot once and make themselves an open target. Second scene is with Saber Athena, instead of finishing the kaiju off with their swords they instead spend the next few minutes kicking and kicking and no slashing out.
Another key factor as to why Uprising was bad, is the way they handled Mako. Instead of her having brother and sister moments with jake, they instead wrote her off. As for Jake, they could have handled him better written him better but no.
Lastly, I didn’t feel any apocalyptic vibes from Uprising. At least in the original, the older jaegers despite looking outlandish looked worn down and to the point where if you lose another jaeger, you start acting too drastically.
My only hopes is that with Pacific Rim the Black they at least take the time and massively improve upon everything

ever realize how unrealistically light the Jaegers are? Like they stand as tall or taller than most modern warships are long (besides carriers) and have greater shoulder spans than their beams (widest part of a ship) yet have a fraction of the weight despite warships generally being hollow so the crew can operate and live inside it while the Jaegers are almost all solid metal with only one compartment for the two-man crew. To put it into perspective, it'd be more realistic if their weights as listed were multiplied by 5-10x depending on the Jaeger. The only one that's really believable is Scrapper being in the 200-300 range due to it's size.
