Heard one of these little beauties in Glasgow, Scotland today. Couldn't see it but so happy to have identified its song.

Been hearing this noise every night for the past fortnight while walking my dog at night. I honestly thought it was some kind of beetle. Luckily enough to night to see this amazing little Bird with a encapsulating noise. Absolutely made my night 😊

Hello John- after more listening, and a lot more research on my part, it appears that what I am hearing is a common Chipping Sparrow. But even though my ignorance is evident, your amazing videos are helping me become a better and more discerning listener. I can hear now the distinct differences in these calls. I am so glad I stumbled upon this channel as I continue to educate myself.

If been lucky this year to spot one straight away. ED binoculars really are good for these difficult warblers to spot. Even when sun had gone down and I was walking away it continued singing all through the night.( Not that I was out all night ) 😁😁😁

Oh thank God! I found it.. This is the noise l hear at night that sounds like a cricket but l know it's not a cricket.... And I'm like to my family do you hear that bird no one else can hear it but l love the sound it makes at night time! It's beautiful

I am in Illinois, United States, near Chicago. I was outside and kept hearing this noise-- chatter-- grasshopper like - consistantly-- grabbed my binoculars and caught him in the act.--watched him for a good long while. He is just sitting on a branch, chattering away-- and back at it today. I am going to try and get a picture-- I am a very novice birder, and Audobon and Cornell show a grasshopper sparrow that sounds similiar and may be who I am looking at/listening to. From the photos online however, the fellow I see looks a bit more like the specimen pictured here. Oh well. I guess I will need to get back out side!

I keep hearing a bird making very short bursts of sounds like this in our hedge which backs into a scrubby field and wooded area. Definately a small brown bird so wondered if a grasshopper warbler or another warbler. I live in Norfolk near the broads.
