In this video, we go car camping with friends in a place known as "Arizona's Yosemite" near Portal, AZ. The campground is named Rustler Park, and it's located in the Chiricahua Mountains - part of the Coronado National Forest. Some people also refer to the area as Cave Creek Canyon, due to some of the creeks and trails that pass through the lower parts.

Some of the campgrounds were closed due to COVID (Sunny Flat, Idlewilde, and Stewart), but Rustler Park and Herb Martyr campgrounds were still open. Dispersed camping is also allowed in this area and there are numerous established places to pull off the side of the road and camp, even for large groups of 2-4 vehicles.

The entire area follows "pack-in, pack-out" rules for trash due to limited services nearby. All of the campgrounds have toilets, but not all of them have drinking water. We brought extra water, and brought a portable toilet in case the campgrounds were full and we decided to do dispersed camping.

Gear for Dispersed Camping:

Music: "Buckeye Bonzai" by Vans in Japan

I’m thinking of camping in that area soon and I am particularly looking for a place to photograph the mountains at sunrise and sunset. Any suggestions on where I should camp? Thanks
