Find Equation of Circle given Center and Radius | Diameter that has Endpoints | Math Dot Com
Показать описание
How to find equation of circle with the diameter that has endpoints is explained with examples with two cases:
Find equation of circle if Radius and Center of the circle is given:
For finding equation of the circle if radius and center of the circle is given ,standard form of equation of the circle is used as:
r^2=(x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2
Where r is the radius of the circle and (h,k) represents center of the circle.By just putting the values in the above equation we can easily find equation of the circle.To skip ahead at 00:30
Find equation of circle if endpoints of the diameter of circle given:
For finding equation of circle if radius and center of the circle is not given and only endpoints of the diameter of the circle is given,we can solve by using below steps:
1)First find center(h,k) of the circle.For which we need to use midpoint formula as :
h=(x1+x2)/2
k=(y1+y2)/2
2) After finding the center of the circle ,now we have two points one on boundary of the circle and the other on the center of the circle.By using these two points we can find the distance between them by Distance formula and that distance is actually the radius of the circle.
Radius=√(x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2
