Carlito comin' at you with another book review! This time I read the brand new release from @marklawrence8418 ; The Book That Wouldn't Burn.
It's a relief that this book proved inflammable even with Lawrence spittin' absolute fire with his exquisite prose.

Excellent review, Carlos! I agree that Mark Lawrence is masterful at planting foreshadowing and mystery into his tales. This is definitely a worthy TBR buster and quite possibly will end up my favorite book of the year too.

I am almost done with the audiobook. I saw so many people recommending this in one of those end of year compilations and just got the audiobook with no expectations. I didn't know the author, didn't even read the synopsis, I was just drawn to the gorgeous cover and the title! I love books about books so I decided to give this one a chance and I am so glad I did. I now need to buy a physical copy so I can highlight and reread passages, as you said. Already pre-ordered the next one.

This sounds super interesting! Keep working on your channel, you're doing a great job. Added this one to my TBR. I'm a big Dune fan also btw.

First off, great review! I have yet to read any Mark Lawrence but this sounds really interesting. Also, the title is fricken awesome! I’m definitely going to have to get to some Mark Lawrence sometime soon because I feel like I’m missing out on some great storytelling.

Loved the review and the passion for the book! I'm in no rush to read new series right now with my backlog of stuff but a little further on in this series' life I'll be all over it!

Will be reading this eventually when more are out. So will have to make do with the Books of Ice in the near future
Does he to the time jump flashbacks again?

Great review! It is a Buddy Read in my GR group 😊 Just finishing my current read (Remarkable Retirement of Edna Fisher) and shall dive in. First Lawrence too. Will come back when read 🤓

I’m listening to this atm and it’s really intriguing but sadly I’m not clicking with the narrator, I will have to get a hard copy from the library when it becomes available, so I can sink into it 😊

This review made me think of the style of Eichiro Oda. Those little bits of information that slowly becomes so satisfying c: definitely gonna try this book :D thx

Phenomenal review, Carlos! You really weaved together an incredible summary of your thoughts on this book. I jokingly boycott Mark Lawrence because of the whole funny "beef" between he and Jimmy, but I'm overdue to give his books a try. The sound of a book about the love of reading sound is so appealing to me. I've heard The Shadow of the Wind, which I believe you're familar with, to be described similarly but found the the "love of reading" focus faded over the course of that story. Hoping to check this one out and see if it can deliver on that!

Maaan, this sounds really really good. I’ve also got the self-imposed publication order Mark Lawrence rule but i’m only one book in so I may have to make an exception 😅

Oh! I was already interested in picking that book --I like what I read from Mark Lawrence, even though he's not on the top of my list of authors-- but you had me at the comparison with Jonathan Hickman's work (him I'm obsessed with; love his indie stuff, and he made me fall in love with Fantastic Four during his amazing run on it).
Great review, man!
