The first one, if proportioned correctly and shaded, would have looked better than the second one. The second one is unrealistically perfectly even on both sides for the "camera angle" which isn't pointed directly towards the character's face from the exact front.

(Edit because I'm not sure how to phrase this)

This is a good tutorial, but not all people have triangle noses!

Depends, because remember: everybody has a different nose, and when they face different directions.




Tip: For cartoony styles, a circle or triangle will do, or the simple line.
