The Leprechaun has alway been on of my favorite characters, Warwick did such a great job breathing life into this character. And you can tell he was having fun the whole time.

This is by far my favorite horror character ever. Warwick Davis just made his leprechaun character so believable. The way he runs up to him with just the shot of his shoes😂

It's funny how, even though this is a horror comedy, the Leprechaun seems almost nice here. He's been locked in a box for a decade and what's the first thing he does when he's out? Does he kill the guy who let him out? Color the sky black to signal the impending terror he'll bring?

...No. He asks for a light for his pipe, has a snack, and offers to shine Ozzie's shoes. He doesn't even start hurting people until they steal his gold, make him travel halfway around the world to get it back, and insult him. In the later movies, he's played more straight as a villain, but the way he's depicted in this first movie makes me wonder what he'd be like if left alone? He's obviously lived in Ireland for decades without bothering anybody; maybe he's just misunderstood and not outright evil.

Ozzie should know better than to knock that four leaf clover off of that crate considering that he frees the Leprechaun from said crate. Add to the fact that the Leprechaun introduces himself to him after he comes out of the crate makes this scene even more iconic and unforgettable.
