I was going to go to the store to buy some chocolate just to try and disprove it, not knowing how to disprove something that I know can't work hurts me! Thanks for saving me the time and effort!

Awesome thanks for explaining! And I noticed that in the video it grows but it really is not growing it is showing you that the parts that are now brown are the parts that you are describing as the missing piece. It is just using color effect instead of words to describe it.

it's logic.it might look the same, but you know your bar will eventually finished up if you keep doing this repeatedly.it gets shorter.

What's scary is that your stretching your chocolate but eating it square or rectangular when really you cut it out of the main bar as a line

so you dont actually get an extra piece of chocolate? so does the whole thing get smaller by a little bit? stupid questions but i need answers.

Actually you don't need to cheat to make it work, you just need point A of the slope to be in the bottom left corner of a square all the way to the left and point B to be on the top right corner of its mirror square on the right.

You'll end up with all the files lining up perfectly with each other, but the rectangle as a whole ends up a little shorter. The trick works because if you don't measure the length of the rectangle then your brain doesn't have any points of reference and it's almost impossible to tell it shrank.

That awkward moment when you thought you had infinite chocolate but you didn't.

Here's what really happened. First of all, you need to notice the switch at 11 seconds into the video. The first bar is not the bar they were working with. That's a big part of the illusion. Both bars were distorted, with some pieces being bigger and/or out of alignment, but the first one was just a distraction and a way to keep you from noticing what's really going on. At any rate, throw out the "first" bar, and start at 11 seconds in. That's not the original state of the bar of chocolate. Pause the video and look at it. Do you see the big gap in the vertical line second from the left? Do you see how the fourth and fifth pieces in the first column aren't cut into, and that what is cut into is an extra space of chocolate that shouldn't be there? Do you see how much longer the other three pieces in row 4 are than all the other pieces? That's because they've already been moved. The state of the bar at the very end of the video was the way it was when it was cut. They geometrically cut it and moved it in such a way that they redistributed the chocolate and ended up with 23 pieces instead of 24, with a piece "missing" in the upper left corner, and some pieces being longer than they should have been. They then took a piece of chocolate from an entirely different bar and stuck it into the upper left, pretending that was the original state of the bar, but it wasn't. They didn't take chocolate away from the original bar; they added to it without telling you, and then removed what they had added. The switch in the middle of the video was very key in getting us not to notice this.

Actually, I was just watching a science tv show called Sidewalk Scientist, and it has explained the infinite chocolate trick.Cool huh?

Basically it would see like the chocolate didn't change, but that's because if you look EXTREMELY closely, it's not a square.the lines don't match up.There is another thing to explain this, but I don't remember the image so can't tell you guys.

wrong explanation i think. in this illusion, chocolate area didn't descrease. refills the remaining piece area while the left piece slides to the right..
