Me and Stanaj had this idea… “What if we made a dark, minor version of ‘Ave Maria’?” …when the idea came up, I had no idea that he grew up singing that song in Latin every week as a kid. It was perfect. Initially we planned for it to be a more beautiful piano/string arrangement, with darker chords and a tweaked melody. But as I built the track… things happened. I found myself adding dirty hip-hop drums, and suddenly it morphed into something you’d hear in a John Wick movie! Once I heard it… I couldn’t unhear it; we knew we had to follow this direction.
