Sue is the voice of Wimbledon. The friendliest genuine lady to greet new and known players to the hallowed grounds of Wimbledon. Sue made them feel they had come home and were welcome and put at ease. Everyone Sue met was charmed by her very natural easy nature and seemed always delighted to chat and be interviewed by her. YA special lady whose informative knowledge will be missed, but we hope to spot her enjoying 2023 tennis as a spectator in the royal box - that’s where she’s earned the privilege. Farewell Sue. Gone but never forgotten.

I think we all know that her leaving was due to a window dressing attempt that was a massive error and the proposed extension of 3 years was not only to make her leaving more palatable to the public ( note Sue found a dignified way out - especially after losing her job on a Question of Spirt) but to ring her dry over the 3 years, whittling down her role and training their ingénue ( and tennis ignorant - compared to Sue- replacement) up at her expense. Shame BBC! So obvious! Time this sport was prized out of your hands!
