Pro Sound Mixer Eric Ballew talks shop after checking out the W.Lav Micro - the new subminiature lavalier microphone from Deity Microphones. With over two decades of experience in the audio field, Eric has had to adapt to just about every type of film set and knows how demanding this work can be on lavs.

With a head diameter of just 3mm, the W.Lav Micro is not just a miniature lav, it is a subminiature lav. This means it can be hidden in plain sight. You can even hide it behind a button. A button hole microphone gives you so much added flexibility on any type of set. The thin wire also allows you to adapt to any wardrobe thrown at you and in a pinch you can even run it through hair. This is perfect for someone who wants to be able to hide mics anywhere.

The microdot connector allows you to use this lav with the Deity Connect wireless system and with adapters, any number of other wireless systems, giving you ultimate flexibility with your audio kit. These microphones can grow with you as a sound mixer.

Let us know in the comments below how you plan to use the W.Lav Micro!

To purchase the W.Lav Micro you can contact your local dealer or shop at our official online store:

Looks great! I have a rode lavelier and the wire gets a lot of interference, presumably cos it's so thin. Are there any/more interference issues with this compared to the w. Pro? Would love to have a thinner wire for narrative!
