Biathlon is actually really challenging. You need to shoot five targets as quickly as possible as accurately as possible after running (in this case; you do cross country skiing in the winter with snow) so your heart rate is at around 120 to 180 beats per minute. Sure, these are highly tuned, extremely accurate, and expensive .22 target rifles but it is still a significant challenge to shoot accurately while racing the person next to you. And there is a penalty for each miss, if memory serves.

And since Finns have mandatory military service, they have a bit of an advantage because they already know the basics of firearms safety and shooting plus combat shooting (which is done under stress).

I'm disapointed with performance during that Full 2023 Timed Shootout | Goodwood Festival of Speed ... that looks designed for a win of a wrc car.. the second place went to a 1984 subaru.. This shows how underpowered wrc is becoming !
