LOST & FOUND...
Another track from the Legendary LOST Traffic Album... "Live - November 70"...
For a very long time, I kept my distance from this very controversial and sensitive topic... However, recently decided to take it on...
There are various interpretations as to why the album was ultimately doomed.... I am of the mind that we may never know, but it would be interesting to articulate on.
The plan was most likely to release a LIVE album by early 1971... It was to feature the addition of Master Grech to the fold ...
One theory which is very likely was that UNITED ARTISTS upset Chris Blackwell and Master Winwood by releasing a retrospective of his work in the US without consulting with them, and when It came to releasing the LIVE album, they lost the backing of the band and their manager.
Another theory is that the master tapes for the album simply got LOST, some say during the flight back to England.
On a final note, there is also the idea that the band were simply dissatisfied with the finished product and destroyed the tapes themselves. I even read somewhere that claimed that Master Winwood threw the tapes off the plane... :)
Some of the tracks from the album, as we know, appeared on the 2011 Deluxe Version of JBMD...
The plan is to unleash tracks that were left out from that release, continuing here with "Pearly Queen"... At the time, the legendary composition saw sporadic instrumental arrangements as well, an example I have already displayed with a previous release from 1968...
Master Winwood displays his effortless versatility on the Guitar while Master Wood keeps the Hammond steady... Yet again, Master Grech's Bass provides the much needed depth...
Master Winwood's photo at Port Chester, 1970 is by Bruce Beck...
Enjoy Loud...
